The Catholic Women Organisation (CWO) of the African Chapliancy Dublin held their 12th Annual General Meeting on Saturday the 30th of November,2024 at The Plaza Hotel Tallaght.

The AGM of the CWO is one of the key events of the organisation and this year’s meeting was a huge success with over 110 members from across the six centres of the African Chaplaincy in attendance.

As part of the 2024 Annual General Meeting, a workshop on skin care and make up tutorials were given by Sister Clara Mbamalu of Blanchardstown Centre and Sister Oluchi Ekechukwu of Lucan Clondalkin Centre respectively.

The meeting proper kicked off after the workshop with the recitation of the Holy Rosary led by the Vice President, Sister Virginia Echesi of Phibsboro Centre.
The Chaplain of the African Chaplaincy Rev.Fr Cornelius Nwaogwugwu CM who was in attendance said the opening prayer followed by a short speech.

The CWO President, Sister Charity Nwajei subsequently gave her opening remarks and minutes of the previous AGM was read by the Secretary, Sister Geraldine Obijuru.

After adoption of the minutes, all centre presidents gave reports on the activities in their respective centres since the last AGM.
The reports included highlights of their activities in the year during which pictures were also shared. The Presidents used the opportunity to enumerate their unique challenges and plans for the next twelve months.

During the general discussions, members had the opportunity to speak up and deliberate on issues pertinent to the organisation and proffered suggestions on areas that needed improvement.

In the course of the meeting, members were treated to a three course meal, the cost of which was subsidised by the Organisation. As the merriment was on, all Centre Presidents were given gifts earmarked for the last 10 years anniversary which was marked in the last mothers day celebrations.

To conclude the AGM, the Vice President of CWO, Sister Virginia Echesi gave the vote of thanks. She thanked all members for their dedication to the organisation and gave special thanks to the Chaplian Rev Fr Cornelius Nwaogwugwu CM for his spiritual guidance and support.
