Knights of St. Columbanus

✝️ The Order of the Knights of St. Columbanus has members from different parts of Africa who have come to constitute part of the membership of a number of pious groups as component members of the African Chaplaincy.

✝️ As Catholics of African origin who are members of St. Columbanus, and whose membership of the Order stem from the African Chaplaincy, we are proud to associate with every activity and event that contributes to the nurturing and carrying on of the faith within the Chaplaincy and the Irish Church.

✝️ The first set of the members of the African Chaplaincy were inducted into the Order of the Knights of St. Columbanus on Sunday, 19th October, 2014. We have had a second batch inducted on Sunday, 10th December, 2017.

✝️ The induction of the first batch of Africans and subsequent one was the result of the outreaching nature of our indefatigable and amiable Chaplain, Reverend Father Cornelius Kelechukwu Nwaogwugwu CM, who is also a member of the Order of the Knights of St. Columbanus. His outreach within the Archdiocese of Dublin, even within the Order of the Knights of St. Columbanus produced this acceptance of the first ever non-native Irish membership of people of African descent.

✝️ We are grateful to now late Bro. Frank Bodley whose undying love for Africans was expressed in his facilitations and guidance. May his soul rest in The Lord.

✝️ As we all walk and work in brotherhood and in faith for the promotion of Catholicism from the background of African culture, it has been a pleasure to demonstrate the confluence of Irish, Catholic, and African cultures; especially in events and activities like the annual harvests, choir, and other engagements within the Chaplaincy in the Archdiocese of Dublin, Ireland.

✝️ We belong to different councils of the Order, with our different activities and focus within the fraternity; but we can always be accessed collectively and individually through the Chaplaincy.

✝️ Our members include:

1. Bro. Odemena Kyrian Nwamara
2. Bro. Paul Uzo
3. Bro. Francis Okosun
